70 Billion
Plastic Bottles a year
The fact that there is no ecological alternative to buying on-the-go beverages, results in 70 billion (!) plastic bottles a year, and this in Europe only. This leads to overflowing landfills, litter in the environment and waste management that can’t handle the influx.
By implementing Dripl in Europe, we want to half the amount of plastic bottles, by 2030. Dripl introduces a lower global warming potential over the entire beverage production line. Emissions are reduced in all chains of the production:
- Beverage Production: Using bio-produced ingredients, reducing the CO2 emission of the beverage itself
- Filling: Using a Bag-in-box system filled with a syrup, is 5x more sustainable than PET premix.
- Packaging: One time production of a reusable bottle.
- Transport: Reduced logistics emissions due to the fact that only the postmix syrups have to be transported. This is 1/5 of the volume of usual beverages
- Cooling: A small of amount is constantly cooled, in contrast to huge fridges with lots of PET bottles.
- Waste Management: Reducing the influx of waste, results in optimized waste management.
